BACKUP AND RECOVERY
COVE BACKUP
We back up critical computer, server and Microsoft 365 data to separate cloud storage. We monitor backup completion and help restore a file or an entire system when needed.

WHY A SEPARATE BACKUP MATTERS
OneDrive synchronises. A backup lets you recover.
If a file is deleted or encrypted, that change may be synchronised across every device. OneDrive or another sync service alone is therefore not always enough.
Cove keeps a separate copy and earlier versions that can be recovered after a mistake or incident.
WHAT WE MANAGE
A backup must work and be verified
- Agree which devices and data should be protected
- Configure backup frequency and retention
- Review failed or delayed backups
- Help restore files or systems after an incident
- Perform test restores when included in the service
BACKUP OPTIONS
What can be backed up and restored?
The amount of data is only part of the decision. You also need to know how quickly work must resume and whether recovery means one file or a complete server.
| Protected workload | Protected data | Recovery examples | When it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Workstations | Files, folders or the complete device | Individual files, folders or system recovery | Computers holding important business files |
| Servers | Windows and Linux server data and systems | Files, a virtual machine or the complete server | File, accounting and other server-based systems |
| Microsoft 365 | Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint data | Messages, mailboxes, files and site data | When Microsoft 365 data needs an independent backup |
| Rapid recovery | Critical system backups with a recovery plan | Virtual recovery or restore to another environment | When days or even hours of downtime are unacceptable |
Recovery options depend on the workload type, backup configuration and agreed service level.
Not sure what must be backed up?
We will review where your critical data is stored and propose a backup plan without unnecessary scope.
